Plot: The short film is perhaps the most fragile and marginalised format in the cinema cosmos. At the same time, it is also the most sensitive and human one. From a formal perspective, short films are not always "perfect", but that is precisely why they have been so crucial to the development of film as an art form. They are a laboratory for testing new aesthetics and narrative approaches that contribute to the renewal and revitalization of the film industry. The films which Regina Pessoa has selected for this carte blanche are among her personal favourites – they exhibit an extremely wide range of concepts and an elegant balance between the richness of the characters' inner universes, their enigmatic nature and the aesthetics and techniques employed.
