Das Albanische Filmfestival Berlin ist das erste Festival seiner Art in der deutschen Hauptstadt und widmet sich der Präsentation des albanischen Kinos sowie der vielfältigen Stimmen albanischer Filmschaffender aus aller Welt.
Vom 5. bis 9. März präsentiert das Festival an fünf Tagen rund 20 Filme, darunter Spiel-, Dokumentar- und Kurzfilme, die dem Publikum einen vielschichtigen Einblick in das albanische Erzählen bieten.
Die ausgewählten Werke befassen sich mit Themen wie Tradition und Moderne, Identität, Migration, Geschichte und aktuellen gesellschaftlichen Herausforderungen – und spiegeln sowohl die kulturellen Wurzeln als auch die sich wandelnden Perspektiven der Gesellschaften in Albanien, im Kosovo, in Nordmazedonien und in der Diaspora wider.
Das albanische Kino erfährt international zunehmend Anerkennung für seine Authentizität, seinen künstlerischen Mut und seine emotionale Tiefe.
Ziel des Festivals ist es, eine Plattform für etablierte wie auch aufstrebende Filmemacherinnen und Filmemacher zu schaffen und den Austausch zwischen Kunstschaffenden und Publikum in einer der lebendigsten Kulturmetropolen Europas zu fördern.

Plot: The Albanian Film Festival Berlin is the first festival of its kind in the German capital, dedicated to celebrating Albanian cinema and the diverse voices of Albanian filmmakers from around the world. From 5 to 9 March, the festival presents around 20 films over the course of five days, including feature films, documentaries, and short films, offering audiences a rich and multifaceted view of Albanian storytelling. The selected works explore themes such as tradition and modernity, identity, migration, history, and contemporary social realities — reflecting both the cultural roots and the evolving perspectives of societies in Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia and in the diaspora. Albanian cinema is gaining increasing international recognition for its authenticity, artistic courage, and human depth. This festival aims to create a platform for both established and emerging filmmakers, while fostering dialogue between artists and audiences in one of Europe’s most vibrant cultural cities. The festival takes place at ACUDkino, an iconic independent cultural venue in the heart of Berlin, known for its commitment to alternative cinema and artistic exchange.
