๐Ÿ‘ A section of short films made by women* directors from Northern Europe under the name of ๐—ฃ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฎ ๐—ก๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ฐ | ๐—™๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ฒ* ๐—ฉ๐—ผ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐˜€ will be the special focus of this upcoming edition. This is a curated section which changes every year and intends to draw attention on specific topics, regions and concepts. Countries in focus will be: ๐—™๐—ถ๐—ป๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ, ๐—œ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ, ๐—Ÿ๐—ถ๐˜๐—ต๐˜‚๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ฎ, ๐—ฆ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ป.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘‚ As a multidisciplinary event, Visionรคr will host a film concert under the name of ๐—ž๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ผ ๐—ฆ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ผ: this is a female project where two well-known female electronic musicians develop new scores for silent films made by a woman pioneering in cinema.
๐—”๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—š๐˜‚๐˜† ๐—•๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฒฬโ€™s short films of 1912, ๐˜๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜“๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ด and ๐˜”๐˜ข๐˜ฌ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ ๐˜ˆ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ค๐˜ข๐˜ฏ ๐˜Š๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ป๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ, will be shown together with a live performance of ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ช๐—ผฬˆ๐—ฟ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐—ฎ๐—ธ๐—ฎ ๐—™๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜‚ ๐—ช ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—Ÿ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฎ ๐—ž๐—ผ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐˜€๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฎ ๐—ฎ๐—ธ๐—ฎ ๐—”๐—ธ๐—ธ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—ฎ๐˜‚. Guy-Blachรฉ was a producer, a writer, a casting director, a set designer and the first female film director โ€“ for some years the only female director - in cinema history. She began working for Franceโ€™s Gaumont pictures, then moved to the US and founded her own studio, Solax. She made more than 1.000 films. How such a pioneer faded into obscurity has much to do with her gender and with how film history has been written by men. In fact, while her male colleagues were glorified, Guy-Blachรฉโ€™s work was neglected, if not even attributed to the men.

๐ŸŒˆ Visionรคr believes and respects gender equality and gender inclusivity in its selection. In an industry that doesnโ€™t always make it so easy for women*, in a world in which itโ€™s still necessary to impose the โ€œpro film quoteโ€ in order to assure their presence, Visionรคr is very proud to contribute support to women.
