6th Ukrainian Film Festival Berlin
1980, USSR. Mustafa Jemilev, Crimean Tatar rights activist and former political prisoner known worldwide for his 303-day hunger strike, is exiled to Zyryanka in Siberia to work at an oxygen station—a Sisyphean routine.
Thousands of kilometres away lies Crimea, his homeland, from which his people were deported in 1944 when he was still a baby.
Haunted by this loss, Jemilev’s resolve to resist remains unbroken.
Across the vast country, three people move toward him—one to meet, one to destroy, and one to protect.
