6th Ukrainian Film Festival Berlin
A young American woman comes to Kyiv to give her mother a gift: to film the places she used to visit and from which she received letters for a long time. While exploring the city, the tourist meets an eccentric guide and embarks on a mysterious tour dedicated to the life and work of the little-known poet Danylo Prytulyak.
The 'Seventh Route', as the guide calls it, takes her through the familiar streets of the capital, the picturesque suburbs and even Chernobyl.
This declaration of love for Kyiv was miraculously filmed during the total crisis in Ukrainian cinema in the 1990s. The script was written by fourteen authors, including students of Mykhailo Illienko's directing workshop at the Ivan Karpenko-Karyi Institute of Theatre Arts.
The film had virtually no distribution history in the year of its release, and remained without high-quality digitisation for the next 27 years.
The Dovzhenko Centre is presenting the premiere of a new copy of the film, digitised from film stored in its Film Fund collection.

Under the theme “The Time We Have Left”, the Ukrainian Film Festival Berlin will present a wide selection of contemporary Ukrainian feature and documentary films from 22 to 26 October 2025.
