6th Ukrainian Film Festival Berlin

Set on 23 February 2022, on the outskirts of Kyiv, Honeymoon follows Taras and Olya as they celebrate their first night in a new apartment.
At dawn, explosions shatter their world, and Russian troops turn their building into a military headquarters.
Cut off from electricity, water, and communication, the couple finds themselves trapped in their own home, uncertain if Ukraine even still exists.
Over the next five days, they navigate the stark realities of survival while confronting the intimate depths of their relationship and the existential questions that arise under mortal danger.

The Ukrainian Film Festival Berlin is organized by Plivka. Initiative für unabhängige audiovisuelle Kunst und Kultur Berlin e.V., a registered association dedicated to promoting Ukrainian cinema worldwide.

Under the theme “The Time We Have Left”, the Ukrainian Film Festival Berlin will present a wide selection of contemporary Ukrainian feature and documentary films from 22 to 26 October 2025.

In addition to its main program, the festival will highlight postcolonial perspectives from Armenia and Georgia, continue its short film competition, and once again dedicate a retrospective to Ukrainian cinema.
